One of my favourite weekends is a stroll through the city's vintage markets. Portobello Road is always at the top of my list not just for its vibrant chaos, but also for the huge variety. There's everything from mid-century homewares and enamel kitchen tins, to classic vinyl records that are still alive with life. I've lost track of the number of times I've left with "just one little gift" and it's turned into a bag of treasures.

I like going to Shoreditch or Islington for a more refined experience. These are the neighborhoods that house boutique vintage shops that specialize in particular eras.
